Gender Reveal

March 19th, 2020 

Brian and I were planning on having a gender reveal party with family but due to the coronavirus we had to cancel. Instead we asked the ultrasound tech to write the gender down in a sealed envelope during our 20 week check up and were planning on going to the Boise reservoir to open the letter. I had purchased a blue & a pink flower for us to take pictures afterwards so we could put some sort of gender reveal together for our families. Before we left we video taped our predictions, I had thought it was a boy from the beginning and Brian thought so too. On the way to the reservoir I started crying because this was a step closer to getting to know this baby and realized that it wasn’t just going to be me and Brian anymore, it made me appreciated all our time together and the adventures we’ve been on. 

We drove through the reservoir until we found a spot to open the letter. We found a quiet spot next to the water, my heart was beating so fast. We sat down, hugged one more time and Brian open the letter. It was a boy!

We were so excited and once I knew the tears stopped and we were talking about how we knew all along and how it was going to be having a boy. On the way home we were thinking how we wanted to tell our parents. I wanted to do it in a suspenseful way. We ended up facetiming my parents that night and sent them 4 emails. First was our gender prediction video, they had to watch it then make their predictions.  Second was the photos above of us holding both the blue and pink flowers. Third was the gender reveal video and they got to watch our reactions to finding out. Then finally the fourth email was us holding the blue hydrangeas. Next we told Brian’s sister, his parents, my brother and my grandma nano. Even though we couldn’t have our families visit we still wanted to make it special and it was
